Here’s a taste of what’s on offer

Namaste and welcome to India! Your journey begins as you board your Singapore Airlines flight in Australia, headed for Delhi, the country’s breathtakingly vibrant capital.

It’s a metropolis defined by contrast, from New Delhi’s java plum-lined boulevards and iconic, Lutyens-designed colonial architecture to the twisting streets, ancient minarets and aroma-filled bazaars of Old Delhi.

One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Delhi has always stood at the crossroads of commerce and change – it has seduced countless merchants, mamluks, mystics, maharajas and master chefs over the millennia.

This has left Delhi with a culinary tradition that’s ancient but agile, with a range unmatched anywhere else in the world. Here, ghee is liquid gold, fresh spices are king and the chole bhature (fried bread) is soft as a cloud and best enjoyed straight on the street.

After you pass through customs and immigration at Delhi International Airport (DEL) airport, you’ll be transferred to your spectacular five-star stay – The Oberoi, New Delhi.

Signature Accommodation: The Oberoi, New Delhi

Reminiscent of the royal palaces of old, The Oberoi’s exquisite collection of five-star properties has appeared on an astounding number of world’s best lists and won numerous awards for both excellence and unmatched luxury, including Travel + Leisure’s Best Hotel Brand for Service Excellence 2023 (for the second consecutive year).

Beginning in 1934 with a single hotel in Shimla, capital of the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, the brand has since become the pinnacle of hospitality and service in India and abroad.

You’ll be hard pressed to find more opulent stays – or ones more breathtakingly beautiful – as those in The Oberoi collection. Simply put, each hotel is a masterpiece.

Fit for modern-day Mughals and moguls, The Oberoi, New Delhi will captivate you with its sleek, pared-back interior design – the result of a comprehensive two-year refurbishment, finally completed in 2018 – and with views over the tomb of 16th century conqueror Humayun and its surrounding charbagh water gardens, said to represent the Quran’s four rivers of paradise.

A state-of-the-art purification system offers some of the cleanest air in the city, and gilt-edged Art Deco touches inspire whimsy and wonder throughout the hotel’s halls.

With half a century under its belt and a stack of awards – including #1 City Hotel in Asia in 2022’s Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards – it’s no wonder that this incredible stay is renowned as one of India’s very best.

Dinner tonight is at your leisure, but know that The Oberoi, New Delhi’s dining program is considered one of the city’s best, and an evening at one of its restaurants is highly recommended.

Established by India’s first-ever chef to receive a Michelin star, Vineet Bhatia’s inspired eatery, Dhilli, pays homage to Delhi’s culinary past while fearlessly reinventing its future.

Alternatively, make a reservation at Bhaoshuan, celebrated as one of India’s Top 50 Restaurants by Condé Nast’s Traveller Awards in 2023, for a taste of the city’s best dim sum.
